"Nessa"
Nessa still fancies herself the "boss mare" of the paddock, but now she has a foal of her own to push around. On June 7, Nessa and Ruari had a darling colt I have named Redmond. She gets a little frustrated with her son because he seems to have inherited her independent streak, which of course makes me smile. Nessa got the colt she deserves. Nessa is back in foal to Ruari for a 2010 foal.

"Sasha"
Sasha is another of my first time mothers and on March 27 she had a lovely filly named Annabelle. Sasha is ready to begin driving again and Annabelle is such a drafty little girl (I think she inherited the Lion King booty as her sire is Legacy) that I will let her follow along while we take her mom out on some short drives around the farm. Sasha is expecting a Nobby foal in 2010.

"Brannagh"
Brannagh is a stunning young filly, a true blue roan, courtesy of her sire, Flash Harry. She is maturing nicely and next summer she will start riding and driving. She will be 3 then and ready to become a mom. Thank goodness I have all winter to figure who will be the lucky stallion.

"Goldie"
Goldie is my silver dapple mare. Last year she had a lovely filly named Jezebel (who has her own page now) and this year she had another Silver Dapple Tobiano filly named Darcy who was sired by Sir Collin. She produces these wonderfully spirited girls who are to smart for their own good. Fortunately Goldie is a good and patient mother. She is in foal to Nobby for next summer.

"Cognac"
Cognac is a lovely bay mare that is the dam to two of my fillies, Branagh and Maeve. She has a great personality and as you can see from her daughters she puts really quality foals on the ground. She had last year off but she is now expecting Finn’s first foal in 2010. I am hoping for a buckskin.

"Kayla"
Kayla is a pretty liver chestnut mare and the newest girl in the paddock. She had a darling colt sired by Sir Colin that I have named Emmett. Little Emmett was born so late in the season that I decided to give Kayla a year off. I will start her riding and driving this year. Next summer I will let her run with Ruari.

"Jezebel"
Jezebel is my first filly born at the farm (while we were still in CA) so I am a little prejudiced but I think she is spectacular. She has already gone to several shows. She does love the crowd. She is pretty confident that she is beautiful and should be admired. She is sired by Lottery.

"Shauna"
Shauna is a lovely chestnut yearling filly sired by Darrig. She has the most wonderful attitude and is also proving to be an exceptional babysitter, in fact, she has adopted Nola’s little colt Seamus. She made losing his mother so much more bearable for the little guy.

"Maeve"
Maeve is Branagh’s little sister and quite a character. I will share with you that when Sid Harker saw her at BFSGH right before she and her mom left Colorado for their new home with me, Sid picked her as one of the best fillies in the pasture. I believe she will prove him right.

"Maisy"
Maisy is my drum mare sired by Gallaway Warrior. She is a lovely girl who had a very perilous beginning. Maisy was a preemie and did not stand for 7 days after foaling. However, her single-minded determination (and she is a very determined young mare) pulled her through. She is in foal to St. Clarins. I am hoping for a silver bay.
